Supercross/Motocross: Racing phenom Ryan Dungey is returning to the team for 2010 aboard the unstoppable RM-Z450. Australian Matt Moss, who won the 2009 Australian National Pro Lites Championship as well as the Australasian Supercross Pro Lites Championship, will join Dungey in the 450 class. Rounding out the team will be Austin Stroupe, who's set to compete in the Pro Lites East series aboard the RM-Z250.

Welcome to the first installment of the The Road to Walton Newsletter
 We would like to wish everyone the very best this Holiday Season, as many of us this week are receiving the first snow fall of winter.
Every winter I am asked by many parents how young riders can better their motocross skills to win a Canadian Grand National Amateur Championship and one day turn professional and win The Canadian Mx1 Number One Plate.
We have designed this Newsletter for amateur races, weekend enthusiasts and motocross fans to provide insight on the latest industry news, on and off season training tips, upcoming events, product specials, product evaluations, tech tips, rider interviews, contests and more.
There are currently 246 days remaining between today and the opening ceremonies for the 2010 Walton TransCan. Every two weeks between now and then, we will releasing a Newsletter Issue as we embrace on the journey that will take us down "'The Road to Walton"

Preparing a race resume
Before you approach a potential motocross sponsor you need to have a resume. This should include all your past racing achievements and a page about you and your personal details etc.
Include a brief overview about the particular discipline of racing you participate in, this is particularly important if you're approaching a business or company outside of the motocross industry so they know a little about your sport. Explain what support you're requesting and outline what events you'll be racing in for the season, also include information about the events.
Put some good colour photos of yourself in, not only riding but also showing yourself in the pits with your sign or van, preferably with all your gear cleaned! Include references from past and current sponsors if you can, this will give you extra credibility. Also if you have received any media coverage in the past include this as well. Make sure all your contact details are current, phone numbers etc.

Chain Maintenance
Why should I care about Dirt Bike chains?
Dirt Bike chain maintenance, along with oil changes and tire maintenance is a crucial part of safe riding. Chains are the unsung mechanical heroes of motorcycling; they're responsible for the crucial task of transferring power from the engine to the rear wheel, and without proper inspection and maintenance, can fail and cripple the dirt bike, or worse, become dangerous projectiles.

How often should chains be inspected and adjusted?
Depending on how aggressively you ride, chains should be inspected every 100-200 hours, or roughly once a month. What items will I need on hand for chain maintenance?
Keep the following items on hand:
Various wrenches.
A soft brush, or old toothbrush.
An O-ring friendly chain cleaner (if, like most chains, yours is of an o-ring type.)
O-ring friendly chain lubricant (again, if applicable.)
A new cotter pin (when adjusting the chain tension.)
Rags (for wiping grime off the chain.)
A rubber mallet (optional.)
A rear wheel stand (optional.)
A tape measure (optional.)
